Installation

For detailed installation notes, please refer to the handbook. These are only very short installation notes.

CINSim-GUI

Change to the directory that holds the tarball archive cinsim-gui-0.6.tar.gz and type

    tar -xzvf cinsim-gui-0.6.tar.gz -C INSTALLDIR

We strongly recommend to set /usr/local/ as INSTALLDIR.

This will create the directory INSTALLDIR/cinsim-gui, in the following called GUIPREFIX.
You will need write access to the installation directory. After extracting the tarball archive change to the directory GUIPREFIX and type

    ./install

This will create the start script cinsim-gui located in GUIPREFIX/bin.

CINSim-Core

There are two possible ways installing CINSim Core.

The first and recommended way is installing CINSim Core via a Software Management Tool. Therefore you need to get the *.deb , respectively *.rpm packages from our Download Page.
Secondly it is possible to install CINSim Core from the sources.
Choosing the second option, the following chapter describes this approach.

Installing CINSim-Core from sources

Change to the directory that holds the tarball archive cinsim-0.6.3.tar.gz and extract the sources by typing:

    tar -xvzf cinsim-0.6.3.tar.gz -C INSTALLDIR

We strongly recommend to set /usr/local/ as INSTALLDIR.

This will create the directory INSTALLDIR/cinsim-0.6.3 in the current directory. Change into this to start the installation process.
First of all you need to make sure having write access to the directory. You will most likely want to set the installation path and the location of the GUI. Assuming that you want to install to PREFIX, for example /usr/local/cinsim-0.6.3, and the GUI has been installed to GUIPREFIX type

    ./configure --prefix=PREFIX --with-gui=GUIPREFIX
       [--with-xerces-prefix=XERCESPREFIX]
       [--with-bisonpp=BISON++PREFIX]

After finishing the configuration process it is time to compile and install the core by typing

    make

and

    make install

Depending on your chosen installation directories it might be necessary to add the paths to the installed binaries manually to your PATH variable for immediate access. This can be done by typing

    export PATH=PREFIX/bin:GUIPREFIX/bin:$PATH
in your shell.
